Tavares Carney, an independent travel agent and proprietor of More Than Bookings Travel, has planned personal, family, and friend vacation experiences for 25+ years. Her travel planning journey for solo, couple and group travel began in the mid-1990s, as she was always the one being asked by family and friends “where should we go”, “will you help me book my flight”, “what is there to do?” Since then, travel planning has evolved to include assisting colleagues and friends with varying aspects of their travel needs. In January of 2023, Tavares became an official travel agent for the purpose of professional development, to garner industry knowledge, and to have information, tools and resources beneficial for her personal travel needs, as well as those of her family, friends, coworkers and a growing client base. Tavares’ desire to see the world, learn about and experience other cultures and participate in philanthropic endeavors were heavy influences in her decision to become a professional travel agent.
Tavares’ independent agency, More Than Bookings Travel, specializes in U.S. and Caribbean destinations for solo, couple and group travel. Her goal is to become an expert and receive planning certifications for numerouus world destinations.
